Developing confident and fluent communicators from an early age
At our school, we believe that language is the key to learning, connection, and expression. That’s why we prioritise the development of the four core language skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing – from the very beginning of each child’s educational journey.
We understand that every child learns at their own pace. Our approach is personalised, supportive, and nurturing, respecting individual rhythms and fostering a lifelong love of language. To support this process, we have adopted the Rocket Phonics – Reading Planet programme, a systematic synthetic phonics scheme validated by the UK Department for Education and widely recognised for its clarity and impact.
This programme integrates seamlessly with our IB methodology, which promotes inquiry-based learning, student agency, and meaningful communication. Rocket Phonics provides a strong phonetic foundation that empowers students to access the curriculum confidently, express themselves effectively, and become lifelong learners.
Through engaging stories, clear progression, and structured daily sessions, our students not only learn how to read and write but also develop the curiosity, confidence, and language skills needed to thrive in an IB learning environment.
